final blog social media

The final week of class Was a bit more relaxing than any other week but I learned a lot from this class Concerning social media. Growing up in such a generation I am quite familiar with social media. Social media is a very strong platform that can either make or break a community depending on the reality of the given situation and how Morally It affects online people. Is social media a positive thing for society? Many people ask this thing every day and many argue and have their perspectives. People have a voice on the Internet regardless of how they see it. Online people express themselves on social media, for example, popular posts on popular websites Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube can lead people into situations where they can either fail or benefit. On social media, people can express very positive posts that can inspire others online to do better.

In generation z, the availability of technology makes it easy for children to have a specific measurement to understand the internet even on an app called “Tik Tok” created by 19 other people. Access to endless information on a device called a “Smartphone” can make people more attached to absorbing information to satisfy their own needs. Yet, many people use such a device for negative selfish reasons for their petty desires. In today’s world, people have become more influential especially online when trying to involve others to support their cause or promotional reasons blindly. When dealing with overcoming addiction the constant thirst for information on celebrities or any major influencer can get cut off with strong discipline and rehabilitation can help you eliminate your addiction with their many methods. Overall I enjoyed the class the semester and I learned to not be on my phone as much because it can be addicting. What is the biggest thing from the discourse that influenced you the most? What inspired you from this class? What was the biggest takeaway from any movie that the professor showed you? What do you like about this course? Do you have any negative or positive outlook on the class? What is your favorite movie from class? what blog was your favorite? did you think these blogs were interesting? what is your favorite part of social media? is addiction a negative thing? have you controlled your usage of the smart device? Have you ever been addicted to a game or app? Have you ever gotten over an addiction or received professional help? Do you think people are in danger when being online? What are your thoughts on cyberbullying? Do you think most celebrities are false idols portraying A fake image? Do you believe anything the government says? Are you fully aware of the social power status of social media in our society? Do you believe in any of the movements being placed on social media? What has made people so divided on a platform that isn’t in reality? what does censoring people’s freedom of speech online have to do with realty?

Final Project People can suffer PTSD from Reality and Online

In the United States, 3.5% of people yearly suffer PTSD from Online and real occurrences any impactful situation can affect people’s natural behavior with one another. PTSD is “Post Traumatic Stress Disorder” which can cause many people harm or self-harm and there is another word for PTSD that military people use called “Shell Shock”. People that have  PTSD often come from a military background due to the brutal challenges they face. When coming from active duty veterans have disturbing thoughts and feelings that relate to their traumatic past events which make it difficult for them to adjust to their normal daily lifestyle with their families. When going through a pandemic, it will increase the rate of people to have PTSD because of the imbalance nature that happens in their life. The fear of not being in control shock many people sense helplessness or not having the power to change the outcome. PTSD doesn’t only happen to only adults, it happens to all people of any race, color, nationality, and age. In the United States, people had many issues with the Internet constantly being a trigger in many cases where veterans have a difficult time adjusting to normal lifestyles and people who have other mental issues suffer the most to the high possibility they have PTSD.

The free time people with PTSD spend to make themselves happy can be ruined in an instant. In many families, mental issues can run through DNA and some people don’t understand the seriousness. Debbie is a person who suffers from mental issues “I suffer from complex post-traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD), major depressive disorder (MDD) and anxiety, which at times makes my life difficult and unbearable. I find that mental health is still a very taboo subject. Many people are still ignorant about mental health and don’t treat it seriously because it’s not really visible.” This issue further explains the importance of taking care of those who struggle in silence with talking to anyone or even searching for general support is difficult when you constantly hear negative thoughts of suicide, thinking you’re not good enough, always saying you can do better, comparing your own action to someone else thinking they have it better than you not knowing their struggle but still feeling insecure about yourself, and having a sense of self-disappointment frequently. Online people tend to not show empathy to others with their own comments when dealing with others who post on their social media.  Social media is a huge networking source where people can communicate faster than they did in the past where now you can be a very young person and still have access to social media to interact with others. A smartphone is devices that a majority of people in the United States use in their life and are very crucial in how they react to others and make their own decisions. People forget that having such a device with such power can cause negative effects on those who behave in a destructive matter that make people victims of their destructive behavior.

Many marine soldiers return with a different behavior when they return home from active duty. Marines carry out brutal combat missions to serve this nation. The missions they carry out can lead to a variety of mental health symptoms. The mental health symptoms can be random panic attacks, nightmares, aggressive behaviors, mood swings, and addiction to drugs. The random panic attacks can come from memorizing an intense event that happened in active duty. In recent studies “About 15 out of every 100 Vietnam veterans (15%) were currently diagnosed with PTSD when the most recent study of them (the National Vietnam Veteran Readjustment Study) was conducted in the late 1980s.” Marines with PTSD that have aggressive behaviors “.. had been aggressive in the past four months, such as threatening physical violence, destroying property, or having a physical fight with someone.” In the Marine corps soldiers who have PTSD are very difficult to deal with in the process of returning home. Most of the marines in the United States have been put down because of their inappropriate behaviors in society.

In the United States, 20 percent of Marine soldiers suffer from problems with mental health, adjusting to their own families, anger issues, and unusual behavior when returning home; Marine soldiers struggle to maintain their mental issues on a daily routine. The Marine families have a difficult time keeping the bond together, but usually, they fall apart. Marines with PTSD do suffer at home in the process of adjusting to a normal lifestyle. The population has been on the verge of mental problems, but there are still some people who committed suicide to get rid of their agony. In family vacation, the soul purpose to relax can be perturbed by an unexpected situation where it affects the minds involved for instance “ I went on to the Dominican Republic at the age of six where I was on the beach and got stung by a sea urchin”. That experience gave PTSD any that deals with sea life and when I go on any family vacation I am constantly reminded of that moment. There are many different situations that can make people tumble from the shock of PTSD but the way they endure it can determine whether or not they can make the best of their own situation or be consume in the negativity that follows ups with other sorts of mental issues.

Online is a place where people find whatever feeling, ideas, desires, positive or negative post but none less its express human interaction but virtually. People can get PTSD from anything even from merely waking up or from a workplace. In many cases, people suffer from nightmares of past events with waking up in the middle of the night from shock. The countless nights that people go through with their PTSD have a treatment that comes in pills, liquids, and another product that can be prescribed to you by your own doctor if you have insurance but if you don’t you would have to go to the pharmacy. In any situation, there is a possibility of the outcome ending terrible but keep a positive mindset can also help yourself manage the pain in life to keep pushing forward because nobody can make you stand on your two feet and walk for you it is your own responsibility to move forward for a positive revolution.

This week, I learned about social media dependence, the effects it has on the generation z, and I read the article “Addicted to Distraction” by Tony Schwartz. In this article, I learned a lot about the addictive effects that social media brings to everyone especially generation z, “Almost immediately, the man turned his attention to his phone. Meanwhile, his daughter was a whirlwind of energy and restlessness, standing up on her seat, walking around the table, waving and making faces to get her father’s attention. Except for brief moments, she didn’t succeed and after a while, she glumly gave up. The silence felt deafening.” This shows that people may be addicted to the media. In the restaurant, Tony Schwartz saw a reflection of himself in the past when didn’t have control of his addiction to social media. In life, people realize later when they were in a loss of self-control to become more aware of themselves to improve and later have a better future in life.

When trying to overcome an addiction one would have to accept the fact you have faith in yourself to change and seek help from other people that you trust. When becoming an adult one should know right from wrong to make smarter choices that can lead them higher mindset. People’s struggles for everyday reasons are expressed on social media, for example, popular posts on popular websites Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube can lead people into situations where can either come up from or down. On social media, people can express very positive, eclectic posts that will inspire other online people to do better. In a generation z, the availability for technology is easy for children to have a certain measurement to the internet even on an app called “Tik Tok” created by 19 other people. The access to endless information on a device called a “Smartphone” can people more attached to absorb information to satisfy their own needs yet there are many people who use such a device for negative selfish reasons for their own petty desires. In today’s world, people have become more influential especially online when trying to involve others to support their cause or promotional reasons. When dealing with overcoming addiction the constant thirst for information on celebrities or any major influencer can get cut off with strong discipline and rehabilitation can help you get rid of your addiction with their many methods. What do you think addiction is? Do you know how to control your addiction without harming your body, spirit, and spirit?

Five things I think are positive about my generation, that are positive are very Ambitous in what every we put our mind to, the way our generation is very Social with others, we are very entertaining, we have advanced techonloy, and rebellious.

Five things I think are negative about my generation, is the racism that is still here, the corona virus situation, the access to internet, the treatment of women is blinded by some men, and the president selection.

Is it just a push of a button?

This week I watched black Mirror White Christmas on Netflix where Matthew and Joe were in a cabin for a federal investigation. At the start of things, Matthew has a life outside of the cabin where Mathew was interrogating a copy of a human being inside a cookie but he also was a guide for men who can’t pick up women on there because of their own lack of confidence. The many weird situations that Matthew put many men in are partially his fault for leading those men on to situations they can’t handle on their own. Matthew has put himself in a complex situation where he witnesses a murder that he could have reported but didn’t through fear of getting thrown in jail.  When dealing with the heavy burden of guiding and witnessing a murder, it will make you do stuff for the government to get out of your own situation but later be punished by the government for the crime. In fact, Mathews’ real job is working for a company called “Smartelligence” in reprogramming those copy codes of humans into a private service stool for the original’s own home. Do you think having a job like Matthew is beneficial for human? Do you think Maythews morals are all over the place?

The conversation that took place in the cabin has made it clear that those two have gone through a lot in their past life. Joe had a hard time opening up to Mathew due to his struggle with his PTSD. In the episode because a block or blocking someone else is the harshest thing to do. When your Block, you can’t see or hear the person who you blocked in the show Mathew’s ex has blocked him plenty of times and he said “it wasn’t fun”. Joe has a complex situation where he was in a delusional relationship because his girlfriend was secretly cheating on him with the Chinese guy who was with another female by his side. The dark truths Joe explained to Mathew made him think about his situation, but Matthew didn’t care for Joe because he treated him like a thing with the comfort of Mathew soaking up to him. In the cabin, Mathew has set the time for Joe to feel longer than it should be so, every minute that passes by its years passing by that it made it easier for Matthew to get close to him to hear confession. In truth, it would be fair for someone to pass judgment on a copy of someone because it’s not the original and when dealing with such a complex situation it’s better to hear from the source other than a copy. Do you agree with Matthew selling out Joe? What do you think would happen if Mathew reported the crime instead of pushing it too far with selling out a real person through a copy of them? Do you think Joe had a right to kill the old man? Did the government give the code a fair punishment for the crime his orginal did?

No More Personal Spaces

This week, I read a few articles called “Should Reddit Be Blamed for the Spreading of a Smear?”, “The Humiliation of Katie Hill Offers a Warning” and a did a presentation this Wednesday. The articles were are all interesting when talking about the harsh truths that people go through trying to keep their own lives stable. This week is also learned about a book called “Frenemies: How Social Media Polarizes America” and how it’s very influential in people’s lines of communication, connecting with one another, datum induction, and the polarization of people through social media. When using Facebook features, it can negatively affect the political viewpoints of many people. On the internet, there are people who send treats to those who oppose their political views.  The propaganda,  fake news, and the never-ending cycle of harassment that comes with the online risk but only in misbehavior.

Social media fills up netizens who need work, campaigns or campaigns, and other ways to support young entrepreneurs. Online, there are many ways to improve, especially if someone starts to catch a certain trend, it can attract many consumers during the epidemic, so people will have more reasons to buy or support your viral activities. Online trends can be anything that attracts the attention of a mass quantity of people online or the main topic in many posts.

Propaganda now is more dangerous than ever, because propaganda is faster due to many developments in technology. In society today a terrorist can post on popular social media websites and cost the lives of thousands of online people. The sounds that the internet provides can cause youth to do irresponsible acts such as drugs, criminal behavior, and be part of certain groups that cause nothing but trouble.

This week I saw the show called “Newsroom Boston episode” the people were tryna to find who caused the attack at the end marathon finishing line. The way people treat one another in the show is like a family and tough love meaning being truthful even when it hurts. In the article “The Humiliation of Katie Hill Offers a Warning” Katie has suffered abuse from her late partner who made her lose her job. Katie is a victim of nonconsensual pornography which Congres hasn’t been doing too much about it. Katie said “I refuse to let this experience scare off other women,”  on the internet there many women who have gone through similar situations who can relate to Katie Hill’s experience with her late partner. If you were in her shoes what will you do to help other women who suffered similar abuse? Do you know anyone that has been humiliated in such a way they lost a job or life? Have you ever had to deal with narcissistic people or family members?

Is the social network a good thing or not?

This week, I watched a movie called “The Social Network” on Netflix where the birth of Facebook became extremely influential from Mark Zuckerberg. In today’s world, social networks have improved over the past five years. Facebook made myspace less impactful where Facebook has partnered with the world’s largest and most entertaining media organizations. The benefits that Facebook offers is reaching millions of potential customers, build your email list, gain insights for your audience, and Facebook is the world’s top consumer social website in 2020. When dealing with new changes such as Facebook, you’re going to deal with people who would use it for problematic reasons. In history, evolution has pros and cons witch the lives of people were sacrificed in a way for those with a stronger drive to further improve on their own selfish desires. Whether it’s good or bad, it is debatable for anyone to voice in but the website’s influence on people’s lives is extremely high.

The downfalls of Facebook are addiction to being on the website for too much, identity theft, relationship problems, and anti-social behavior. In life, there are going to be risks in everything one does especially dealing with online people. On Facebook, it can lead to a sense of false consensus, but the app makes your internet searches more personalized on your newsfeed from posts of like-minded people on the app. There are people who went missing because of Facebook having so much access to one life it makes it easier for the wicked-minded people to find their targets. Many people have used trending sources to further insist on the misbehavior online and people who are major influencers on social media. In 2020, Joe Biden used Cardi B to gain more of the minority votes for his presidential campaign. This use of promotion can be debated by the people as good or bad depending on the point of view of the person.

The social network has the power to bring people together, but also destroy them too. Zack Zuckerberg showed me that there is always room to improve and not to be an ass-hole. At the end of the movie where things seemed to be clearing up, Zack Zuckerberg started to see things in a better light where the young lady expressed a few words of encouragement. Why did Zack prefer someone other than his best friend? Could Zack Zuckerberg treat his only best friend any better than he did? Has Zack Zuckerberg ever find a good connection with someone on Facebook? Why did Zack Zuckerberg drop out and is college worth it? When entering the business world is college a good place to start? In the future how strict will you be with your own children about the use of the social network?
